I have only used Japan Post's EMS to send packages overseas .
The reason is because I wanted to include the size of the baggage + freight and a compensation guarantee system .
I haven't used a courier yet
I cannot respond to the comparison with EMS.

2. Regarding invoice creation in EMS.
Once you have successfully packed your items, the next step is to create an invoice .
This is a statement of contents required for declaration to customs and inspection.
At the time of customs clearance, the contents and their value must be declared correctly as they will be checked by the customs office.
(This is because there will be work to confirm that there are no discrepancies between the contents of the document and the contents later.)
In addition, the local consumption tax, etc. to be paid by the recipient (recipient) will be determined depending on the price of the contents.
You can create an invoice from your PC or smartphone.
Access and register for Japan Post's "International Mail My Page Service"
Then, the document creation will begin in the following order.
① Client selection (your own postal code, address, telephone number, etc.)
②Delivery destination selection ( shipping destination postal code, address, phone number, etc. )

Enter the following in this order:
① to ③ are alphabetical input.

Here you will be asked for the following details:
1. Contents name
2. Unit price (Japanese yen accepted)
3. Weight g/piece
4.HS code
5. Quantity
6. Content type
7. Tax declaration price
I will explain each item in detail.
First of all, the name of the contents of 1. is Art works in alphabetical notation.
It is better to also write down the material at that time (e.g. Works on Paper, etc.)
2. Enter the weight of the package after packing.
3. Select the HS code that is closest to your work.
(Unfortunately, art works are not listed)
Choose one that is close to your own shape
By the way, I classified it as a poster.
This code is not currently required outside of Europe
4. For the tax declaration price, enter the total amount of the contents in Japanese yen.
With EMS, you can add liability insurance to your package.
Free up to 20,000 yen, after that you will have to pay an additional charge of 50 yen for every 20,000 yen.
You can increase the maximum amount
If you cannot create it on your PC or smartphone,
You can also rent a tablet at the post office and create one.
